Honeybee

Honeybee

by Naomi Shihab Nye

This collection of poems and prose deals with many of Nye's views on social issues, the environment, religion, her poetry, family, and politics. I personally enjoyed many of her thoughtful reflections on life. "Museum" was funny and thought-provoking. Every librarian and book lover should read "Before I Read the Kite Runner". If you have heard her speak, you may have heard the genesis for "Accuracy" and "Gate A-4". While I loved these poems, I had a hard time picturing the teen audience who would understand and enjoy them.
