How to Build a House
by Dana Reinhardt
Harper is a young girl whose family has fallen apart, and not for the first time. Her mother died when she was two years old. When her father married Jane four years later, she built a close relationship with Jane and her daughter Tess. Now Jane and Tess have moved out and Harper's relationship with long time friend Gabriel has deteriorated into something Harper can't understand. Harper decides to leave it all and spend a summer in Tennessee, as part of a youth project to rebuild a home devastated by a tornado. As Harper learns to build a home, she also begins to understand how to build and rebuild relationships. I liked this sweet little book.
