Freeze Frame by Heidi Ayarbe

Kyle and his best friend Jason are in the shed when a gun goes off and Jason is dead. What happened? Kyle can't remember and searches for answers as he attempts to create a "movie" of that moment in the shed. A first person narrative that had me in it's grip from the start and it never let up. Powerful story!
Note: I liked the relationship that Kyle has with Mr. Cordoba the librarian. It was a refreshing change from the standard brief scene, "kid goes to the library to look up information" that appears in most YA books. Bouquets to Ayarbe.
